Dubois & Fils, Le Locle, Switzerland, presents a quarter repeater pocket watch equipped with a Breguet escapement.
The Breguet escapement is said to have been created by Pierre-Augustin Caron (1732-1799), a playwright famous for his Figaro trilogy, when he was working as a watchmaker. Born into a family of watchmakers, he honed his skills in the family workshop.
This timepiece has a repeater that is activated by pressing the pendant, and uses a wire gong instead of a bell.
The gold-plated movement and 18K gold case are still in excellent condition after almost 200 years. The entire watch weighs 94 grams.
There is a small chip at the 6 and 7 o'clock position on the dial, although it is not noticeable.
Experience the clear sound of a genuine "antique repeater."
Practical accuracy is guaranteed to be within 90 seconds per day.
